Janet Baird, RYT

Janet Baird, Registered Yoga Teacher (R.Y.T.) started taking yoga classes while training for her first marathon. She was able to train injury free as well as increase her lung capacity and develop the mental awareness needed for long distance running. The combination of running and yoga has kept Janet mentally and physically centered for years.
In 2003, she completed 200-Hour Hatha Yoga Based teacher training program at Free Spirit Studio in Sacramento, which emphasizes a Forrest-Style of yoga. Prior to becoming a yoga instructor, Janet taught high school English for 9 years. Her love of teaching and learning is apparent in the energy in each of her classes. Through the years, Janet has taught a wide variety of classes including Yoga Basics, Prenatal, Mommy Time, Yoga Plus and Private Yoga Instruction.
By working with these specialized populations, Janet has gained the ability to truly see each student as an individual with needs different from those around them. She empowers students to embrace their individuality and work with their bodies instead of against them. Personally, Janet has seen her yoga practice evolve as she moves through different stages of her life. She has two sons, ages 3 and 1, and she taught yoga throughout both her pregnancies. Janet attributes her amazing pre and post pregnancy experiences to yoga. Janet¹s classes are appropriate for all levels of students. While her classes are challenging, she provides modifications for all levels.
