What is the difference between Yoga and Pilates? How do I know which one I should do?
- Pilates was initially developed as a rehabilitative technique, and its focus is on flowing, controlled movements originating from your core. The practice was influenced by the tradition of yoga. Yoga in practice can vary greatly depending on what type of yoga class you take.Yoga and Pilates are excellent complements to one another, and we recommend you try both to see what best meets your needs.

Should I consider private lessons or join into a class?
- Private lessons are an excellent way to begin your practice, and our instructors will customize the program to meet your specific needs. Some people prefer to take privates because of this, while others prefer to take classes with other people. If you have any physical limitations that would prevent you from easily moving on and off a yoga mat, we recommend private Pilates training. Pilates was initially developed as a rehabilitative technique, and is an ideal exercise for anyone limited with other forms of exercise. We also offer Yoga Therapy sessions, which are done privately.
If you would like to discuss your specific needs, and whether private lessons or group classes are more appropriate, feel free to contact us here or call 916-624-YOGA.
