Yoga Styles

MAT PILATES
Developed by Joseph Pilates as a physical therapy program, mat work focuses on core stabilization, concentration, control, breath and flowing movement performed in a precise manner. You will build strength, improve your posture and improve your overall fitness by attending this class regularly. This is a mixed level class that welcomes beginners as well as more experienced practitioners.
VINYASA FLOW
Vinyasa literally means "breath synchronized movement." Our vinyasa flow classes provide students a journey into asana (postures), pranayama (breath control) and relaxation techniques in a flowing, graceful and challenging dance of yoga. Sequences are designed to cultivate the development of core strength, endurance, flexibility, concentration and stability, all while having fun and getting in touch with your breath and body. Our Vinyasa classes are healing, balancing and cleansing for mind and body, building heat from the inside out.
FUSION FLOW
Fusion flow fuses the best of yoga with dash of pilates. Students will experience a blend of flowing and controlled movements, core strengthening, breath and a dynamic sequence of yoga postures. This class has something to offer new students, as well as experienced students of both disciplines. Class also utilizes foam roller, magic circle and hand weights. This class has something to offer new students, as well as experienced students of both disciplines.
IYENGAR STYLE YOGA
Iyengar Yoga (created by B.K.S. Iyengar) is known for attention to detail and focus on proper body alignment. An Iyengar Yoga class is verbal and precise, with misalignments actively corrected. Use of "props" (blocks, belts, blankets, chairs) is also encouraged to make asanas accessible, safe, and rewarding for students of different skill levels and physical abilities. The mixed level class consists of a gradually progressive asana sequence to encourage flexibility, balance, and a relaxed state of mind. Strength building and preparation for the intermediate level asanas (for students who desire) shall occur as a natural result of regular attendance. This is a mixed level class and students of any skill level are welcome to attend.
AWAKE & READY YOGA
Awake and ready yoga will leave you feeling blissed out and ready for life! This class blends Ananda Style Energization Exercises with an alignment based Iyengar approach to asana (Yoga Postures). Class includes pranayama (breath) work with a challenging sequence appropriate and rewarding for any level of practitioner. This class includes an optional meditation at the end of class.
HAPPY HOUR
Intoxicate yourself with Yoga while you unwind and relax into your weekend. Our Happy Hour class blends elements of alignment based Iyengar yoga and also draws from the Ananda yoga tradition. Both healing traditions, this class will leave you feeling de-stressed and energized. Students will move through a variety of asana, while incorporating pranayama to relieve stress while building strength and flexibility.
ANANDA “BLISS” YOGA
Ananda, or “bliss,” Yoga is based upon the teachings of Paramhansa Yogananda. This relaxation based style of yoga blends breath work (pranayama), asana (postures), meditation, energization exercises and affirmation to bring you energy and balance. And, for the joy of students, Aumkara provides live music during portions of his class.
ANAHATA SIVANANDA YOGA
Sivananda Yoga classes focus on building strength and flexibility while training the mind, releasing stress, and opening the heart. Sivananda Yoga increases the sense of health and well-being of the practitioner and the class is designed with the principles of Ayurveda in mind to create balance for Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. Anahata is the Sanskrit word for the heart chakra, and this class specifically releases negative emotional patterns so the practitioner may experience the flow of unconditional love. Classes include asana (yoga postures), pranayama (yogic breathing), and deep relaxation.
YIN/YANG YOGA
Take a break in your day to reconnect to find your inner strength within stillness. This class combines a challenging and energizing sequence of asana and pranayama (Yang) with restorative elements of asana and pranayama (Yin). Students of all levels will benefit from this practice.
HIP OPENERS
Hip joint flexibility is one of the keys to overall mobility. Our modern lifestyle in which sitting (at work, home, in our cars, etc.) is common, the muscles surrounding our hip joints tighten/shorten. This effects mobility and limits our yoga practice. This class will focus on opening and lengthening hip rotators and flexors is designed to improve pelvis alignment and initial movement required for twists and backbends – allowing you to go deeper into your practice. This class is great for any student - practicing yogi’s and yoginis of any level, athletes and prenatal students.
PRENATAL YOGA
This prenatal yoga class will focus on pranayama (breathing) and asana (postures) to help you enjoy your pregnancy and prepare for your upcoming birth. You will learn how to reduce stress and anxiety while building strength, confidence, and endurance needed to keep you healthy through pregnancy, birth, and beyond. This class is also a great way to connect with other moms-to-be in the community. You may come to this class at any time throughout your pregnancy, and no yoga background is required. Please check with your doctor or midwife if you have any questions about your specific pregnancy and exercise.
PILATES BOOTCAMP
Our Pilates Hotty Bootcamp will guide you towards your personal potential, with pilates/yoga based workout in a supportive and positive environment. Class utilizes pilates apparatus, including the reformer, tower and chair. You must be currently enrolled in our apparatus program, or have permission of the instructor. You must pre-register to guarantee space in this program.
